An emotional action thriller. A series of unfortunate events leads to the sister set out on a journey of excruciating pain, vigour and a will that cannot be bent until her brother is free.

STORY LINE:  

Satya, a young woman who has endured a difficult childhood, now only has one person left in her life—her brother, who is imprisoned and tortured in a foreign jail. With no other options, Satya must transform into a hero and attempt the unthinkable: break him out of prison and bring him to safety

The 30-year-old actress further talked about Jigra and opened up about its plot. She revealed that the film is a story of ‘courage, passion and determination’. “Just a little over a year later, we are ready to launch our second production – Jigra, a beautiful story of courage, passion and determination. I hope to consistently support compelling narratives that are authentic, and enduringly timeless and work with brilliant creative minds to bring them alive,” Alia added.

Earlier this month, Alia announced Jigra with its first look video which begins with a quote by GK Chesterton flashing on the screen. The quote reads, “The paradox of courage is that one must be a little careless of life in order to keep it.” The video then proceeds to show Alia with a bag on her shoulder. She is standing in the streets of what seems to be Japan.

Jigra is directed by Vasan Bala and is produced by Karan Johar. Sharing the video on his Instagram handle, KJo had written, “The return of…my #Jigra, @aliaabhatt once again on this exceptional story helmed by @vasanbala. A story of unbreakable love & unshakable courage! JIGRA – in cinemas on 27th September 2024.”
